Chemical Peel for Pigmentation

Pigmentation can be one of the most frustrating skin concerns, especially when it doesn’t improve with skincare alone.

Our Pigmentation Peel is ideal for:

• Age spots and sun damage
• Melasma and hormonal pigmentation
• Acne marks and post-inflammatory pigmentation
• Uneven skin tone and dullness

For best results, we usually recommend a course of 4–6 sessions, ideally during the autumn and winter months when the skin is less exposed to UV.

While we can significantly improve pigmentation and slow down future darkening, long-term results depend heavily on proper aftercare and consistent sun protection.

How the Pigmentation Peel Works

This treatment is designed to:

• Help reduce excess melanin production (the pigment responsible for dark patches)
• Gently lift dead skin cells and surface discolouration
• Support clearer, smoother skin renewal
• Brighten the overall tone and restore glow

Over a course of treatments, most clients notice their skin looks more even, clearer, and visibly brighter, with dark spots gradually fading.

Consultation First (Always)

At Velvet Skin, we don’t guess when it comes to pigmentation.

Pigmentation can have different causes, and not every peel is suitable for every skin type — especially when melasma is involved.

That’s why we always carry out a consultation first to confirm:

• The type of pigmentation you have
• Whether a peel is the right option for you
• How many sessions you’re likely to need
• What to expect during the healing process

Before Your Appointment

To protect your skin and achieve the best results, you’ll need to:

• Avoid sun exposure (SPF is essential)
• Stop using retinol, acids (glycolic or salicylic), or exfoliating products for 2 weeks before treatment
• Continue avoiding these for 2 weeks after your treatment

We’ll guide you properly so you feel fully prepared and confident before your appointment.

What Happens During the Treatment?

Your Pigmentation Peel appointment includes:

  1. Deep cleanse and skin preparation

  2. Peel application (left on for 15–30 minutes, depending on your skin and concerns)

  3. Targeted layering (either full face or focused on deeper pigmentation areas)

  4. Removal and calming finish

  5. Personalised aftercare advice

You’ll leave with everything you need to support your results safely.

Healing & Downtime

You may feel a mild tingling or warming sensation during the peel — this is completely normal.

Your skin may begin to peel around day 3, but not everyone experiences visible peeling. No peeling does not mean the treatment hasn’t worked — skin responses vary.

Because some downtime is possible, we recommend planning your peel around your schedule, especially if you have upcoming events.

Results You Can Expect

• Reduced pigmentation and more even tone
• Smoother texture and softer skin
• Brighter, clearer complexion
• Gradual fading of dark spots and acne marks
• A healthier glow over time
